Roofer fitting slates on a pitched roof
After the storm

Storm passed? Get your roof checked before the next downpour.

Slipped slates, lifted ridge tiles and loose flashing often go unnoticed until water comes through the ceiling. We inspect roofs across Kerry, Cork and Limerick and tell you straight what needs fixing now and what can wait.

Old slates stripped from a farmhouse roof, debris going down a chute into a skip

Stage 02

Stripping the old roof

The tired, mossy slates come off course by course, down to the rafters. Every broken slate and rotten batten goes down the chute straight into the skip, so the yard stays clear.

How we strip and re-roof
Roofing membrane laid in horizontal courses on a farmhouse, old felt removed from a flat roof

Stage 03

Membrane, battens and the flat roof

A breathable membrane is rolled out along the roof, course by course from the gutter up, then new treated battens go on. At the same time the leaking felt is torn off the flat-roofed extension, back to a sound deck.

Materials

We work with what suits the building

Natural slate on period houses, fibre cement slate where the budget is tighter, concrete and clay tile, standing seam and cladding metal, fibreglass and Lava 20 on flat roofs. If a roof needs two systems joined properly, that is normal work for us.

Stage 04

New slate, a new flat roof, a new frame

Natural slate is laid and the ridge finished. The extension's flat roof gets a seamless grey liquid coating, and the trusses go up on the new garage.

How a job runs

Three steps, no surprises

1

Survey

We call out, go up on the roof and into the attic, and photograph everything we find. It takes about an hour and costs nothing.

2

Fixed price

You get a written quote listing materials, scaffold, skip and timeline. If we hit rot nobody could see, we show you before we touch it.

3

Build and clean up

Same crew start to finish. Gutters cleared, nails swept, skip gone. Photos of the finished roof go to you with the guarantee.

New slate roof on a garage and new anthracite metal roof on a stone barn

Stage 05

A new roof and an old barn

The new garage is felted, battened and slated from scratch. The old stone barn loses its rusty corrugated iron and gets new anthracite metal sheeting.
